Job summary

KBR Careers in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead architecture, development, deployment and optimization of software for a new Modeling and Simulation Lab supporting DoD programs. You will assess new technologies, implement communication between devices, databases and services, and work with in-house and GOTS teams; travel up to 15% for demonstrations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software with BS in CS or related STEM, strong experience with Java, C, C++, MATLAB

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related STEM fields with 10+ years of experience or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
Experience with Agile methods and SCRUM boards.
Experience integrating COTS/GOTS products in a software lab environment.
APIs development to enhance interoperability across products.
Familiarity with Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems.
GIT, Gitlab, or DevOps experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, development, implementation and optimization of software solutions for a Modeling and Simulation Lab.
Research and analyze new technology insertions with existing systems and verify communication between devices, databases and services.
Collaborate with in-house and government customers, and demonstrate software capabilities on gov demos.
Travel up to 15% for meetings and test events; work on-site when required.
