Job summary

MITRE in Huntsville, AL, seeks experienced engineers to advance modeling, simulation, and software engineering in support of Army modernization efforts. You will lead technical work across cross‑functional teams and deliver data‑driven software products for national security applications.

The role requires a strong background in full‑stack development, modeling/simulation, and DevSecOps, plus an active Secret clearance or higher.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Knowledge of Full-Stack Software Development; Agile Development; and software development; and DevSecOps.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Experience with systems engineering and modern software best practices.
• Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Leverage a technical understanding of Modeling, Simulation, and Software Engineering to develop, integration, assess, and analyze modern Model and Simulation capability.
• Work within multiple disciplinary development teams to develop, make recommendations, and implement software engineering changes; deliver strategy for technical performance.
• Identify and articulate program risks and opportunities.
• Establish goals and guidance to achieve sponsor outcomes; build relationships with the sponsor organization.
