Job summary

SciTec Incorporated, a Firefly Aerospace subsidiary, seeks a Principal Software Architect to lead software architecture strategy for a missile defense program in Colorado. You will define governance, drive scalable and secure system design, and mentor staff while coordinating with senior stakeholders.

Requirements include a 12+ year software background, 8+ years MOSA experience, 5+ years Kubernetes, and a DoD-sensitive environment. CKAD/AWS credentials and active DoD clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience developing software systems.
• 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with MOSA system of systems design.
• Understanding of parallelization techniques (GPUs, FaaS, multi-threading).
• Effective communicator to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and own overall software architecture strategy, principles, and standards for a high-visibility program
• Lead the design of a scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing system
• Establish and implement architecture governance, standards, and decision-making processes
• Identify and manage technical debt, risks, dependencies, and SDLC concerns
• Collaborate on product roadmaps with high-level decision makers
• Ensure well-maintained documentation and stakeholder alignment
• Interact with technical exchanges and program reviews to explain architecture decisions
• Translate customer requirements into architectural outcomes
• Mentor staff to implement architecture solutions
• Perform other duties as assigned
