Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Architect to support a high-visibility Air Force rapid acquisition program. You will provide expert software engineering guidance throughout the lifecycle and advise leadership on technical strategies, risk, and source selection.

The ideal candidate must have TS/SCI clearance, 15+ years of software experience including leadership roles, and hands-on experience with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud environments such as AWS

Qualifications

Must have TS/SCI clearance and ability to work in a rapid acquisition environment.
15+ years in software engineering with at least 8 in a lead/architect role.
Experience supporting DoD space, C2, ground systems, or national security software programs.
Proven ability to evaluate architectures, development strategies, and cybersecurity risks.
Hands-on with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
Familiarity with DoD processes, RMF, ATO, and DoDI 5000.87.
Experience reviewing technical documentation and proposals.
Ability to develop recommendations and brief senior leadership.
Experience with satellite C2, mission data, MILSATCOM, PNT programs.
Experience with FFRDCs/SETA or independent technical assessments.
Familiarity with MOSA, reference architectures, data rights, and vendor integration.
Experience with software cost estimates and ITRAs.
Certifications: TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, or DAWIA/Back-to-Basics.

Responsibilities

Evaluate architectures and development approaches for risks across programs.
Assess implementation strategies across architectures, cloud and microservices.
Identify cross-program dependencies and integration challenges.
Evaluate software strategies for DoD SWP, DevSecOps & modernization guidance.
Review architectures, CDRLs, and contractor proposals for independent assessments.
Advise on MOSA, data rights, and vendor dependency reduction.
Assess CI/CD environments and cATO capabilities for delivery improvement.
Develop technical assessments, risk analyses, and executive briefings.
Facilitate technical discussions with government, SETA, and contractors.
Support source selections, evaluations, and acquisition decisions.
Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, edge, zero-trust) for missions.
