Job summary

Leidos in the INTEL Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) seeks a Sr. Software Architect to lead the development of new capabilities for a high‑performance system. This role oversees a team of developers and drives architectural decisions in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with C++, Qt/QML, CI/CD tooling, and secure software architectures, plus the ability to collaborate with program management, testing, and IA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems or a related field with 12+ years of experience, or a Master's with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
• 12+ years designing and developing large integrated classified systems
• 10+ years leading development teams
• Strong understanding of secure systems architecture and development
• Experience with code development tools including JetBrains CLion, VS Code, Git and GitLab Enterprise
• Experience with CI/CD including GitLab CI/CD, CMake and vcpkg
• Experience with stacks: Qt/QML, C++17, SQLite, NNG, Google Protocol Buffers
• Testing/QA tools: Catch2, Clang-Format, CPPLint, FlawFinder, Valgrind, Clang-Tidy
• Databases: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server
• Scripting: Perl, Ruby, Python
• Ability to plan, prioritize tasks and communicate options/trades clearly
• Systems architecture work for Agile/SCRUM teams

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications/software and systems
• Collaborates with hardware engineers during planning and design
• Analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems and defines operating instructions
• Formulates software designs balancing customer needs, cybersecurity, CI/CD
• Manages changes to software architecture and reduces complexity
• Keeps architecture flexible and defends against unnecessary changes
• Leads trade-off analyses for increased complexity
• Coaches and trains team members
• Leads customer meetings and technical discussions
• Supports alternative work schedules (9/80)
