Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced software engineer to analyze, design, and build scalable, domain-driven systems using modern architectures. You will lead backend services in Node.js/TypeScript, frontend in React/TanStack, and deliver PWAs with offline support, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and event-driven workflows.

You will collaborate with product, design, security, and compliance teams, ensuring data integrity and cloud-native deployments on AWS. The role requires three+ days on-site at a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Hexagonal/ Clean Architecture.
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in modern frontend development using React and TanStack.
• Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and offline-first applications.
• Deep knowledge of API design (REST and GraphQL) and scalable service integration.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Strong background in data modeling and persistence (PostgreSQL, IndexedDB/Dexie, SQLite).
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS (EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, Cognito, API Gateway).
• Experience building or integrating ML models, vector databases, embeddings, or RAG pipelines.
• Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.
• Compliance with U.S. Bank policies and workplace safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, test, develop, and maintain software experiences.
• Lead scalable architectures using DDD, Hexagonal Architecture, and FP.
• Develop backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build modern web apps with React and TanStack.
• Architect and deliver PWAs using Service Workers and Workbox.
• Design and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Implement event-driven architectures and distributed workflows.
• Build data synchronization for distributed, intermittently connected systems.
• Design and manage data persistence with IndexedDB/Dexie, PostgreSQL, SQLite.
• Ensure data integrity via idempotency, conflict resolution, and reconciliation.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, and compliance teams.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; conduct code reviews and mentor engineers.
• Follow agile SDLC and DevOps principles.
• Take responsibility for software artifacts per U.S. Bank standards.
