Job summary

Cvent, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to steer the technical direction of our cloud-based event management platform. You will design scalable microservices, implement features in Java and React, and deploy on AWS using a modern SaaS stack.

You will lead a team, enforce automated testing, and optimize data storage with MySQL and Couchbase while mentoring engineers and collaborating across product and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with required experience in SaaS/cloud environments
• Experience: 60+ months (Masters) or 84+ months (Bachelor) in software
• Experience with SaaS/cloud-based software environments
• AWS, JavaScript, RESTful API design, and microservices knowledge

Responsibilities

• Drive technical direction and architecture of microservices for scalability and performance
• Design and implement features using Java, JavaScript, React in a cloud-based SaaS environment
• Develop services on AWS: CloudFormation, ECS, RDS, S3, EC2, Lambda
• Establish automation strategies for unit/integration/API tests
• Lead engineers for shared services and reporting framework in a cloud platform
• Identify and remediate defects and technical debt across the stack
• Establish monitoring and logging for troubleshooting and proactive issues
• Participate in production incident resolution and mitigation
• Manage build/deploy pipelines with Maven and Jenkins
• Design data storage with MySQL and Couchbase
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system connectivity
• Mentor team members for professional growth
