Job summary

KBR, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Architect and Development Lead to drive design, architecture, and execution of mission-focused software solutions. You will lead development teams, set standards, and guide AI/ML, cloud, and digital transformation efforts across programs.

Required 15+ years of software leadership, strong Python, APIs, CI/CD, and DevSecOps experience, plus the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. This role is based in Beavercreek, OH with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading software development teams or engineering organizations.
• Expertise architecting complex cloud-based and distributed software systems.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies.
• Experience with database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead development teams in design, implementation, testing, and deployment of modern software solutions.
• Define and maintain software architecture standards and best practices.
• Lead AI/ML, cloud, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews while enforcing software quality standards.
• Mentor software engineers and provide technical guidance across programs.
• Support hiring activities including interviewing, candidate selection, onboarding, and workforce development.
• Partner with leadership to develop and execute software strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Collaborate with customers, program managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused software capabilities.
