Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home in St. James seeks a Licensed Social Worker to guide and advocate for our Veterans so they receive quality, compassionate support and services.

You will assess needs, coordinate social services, and support families while promoting well-being. This role includes leadership duties when the Director is absent, collaboration with medical staff, and ensuring seamless discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Social Worker in Missouri.
• Senior Clinical Caseworker or LMSW/LCSW licensure required depending on role level.
• Licenses must be active and in good standing in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of veterans' social, environmental, and economic backgrounds to support diagnosis and planning.
• Provide medically related social services to maintain veterans' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Serve as Director of Social Services in the absence of the facility director, supervising staff.
• Coordinate referrals to outside entities and assist with financial or legal matters as needed.
• Arrange for discharge planning and coordinate counseling services and crisis intervention.
• Introduce Veterans and families to the Home and provide tours and information.
