Job summary

Sheffield City Council is recruiting a Senior Social Worker for the Risk Outside the Home (ROTH) Team to strengthen support for children and young people affected by exploitation and extra-familial harm.

You will manage complex cases, deliver assessments, develop care planning, and work with police and education to disrupt risk.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with SW England registration.
• Post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care.
• Experience with exploitation, missing episodes, contextual safeguarding.
• Strong risk assessment and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Commitment to anti-oppressive and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex statutory cases involving exploitation and serious youth violence.
• Complete high-quality assessments analyzing strengths and risks.
• Develop and progress Child in Need, Child Protection and Care Planning.
• Deliver direct work with children and families using trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with police, education, health and community partners.
• Chair or contribute to multi-agency meetings.
• Maintain clear recording and reporting.
