Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Senior Social Worker (Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program) at GS-12 level in the Mental Health Service. The role focuses on complex patient care, intake, assessments, psychotherapy, and treatment planning within an interdisciplinary team.

Position requires MSW from an accredited program, state licensure, and the ability to provide supervision. Telework ad hoc; work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on-site duties prevail.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work required.
• Must be licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master's level.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services: intake evaluations, diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and patient education.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using evidenced-based approaches.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to coordinate care.
• Attend treatment team meetings and participate in supervision and training activities.
• Ensure timely documentation and adherence to clinical reminders and performance measures.
