Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Senior Social Worker (GS-12) to join our VA Medical Center's Social Work Service. The role emphasizes assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support veterans' wellbeing.

The incumbent will provide PC-MHI services, supervise practicum students, and participate in system-wide program evaluation while maintaining documentation standards and meeting licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at MSW level.
• Proficiency in English language (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Assess veterans and identify problems with the interdisciplinary team.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for veterans.
• Provide PC-MHI clinical services and triage to specialty care as needed.
• Document notes within 24 hours and maintain clear records.
• Supervise/teach social work staff and students as applicable.
