Job description

Partnership with Children works in New York City public schools

Partnership with Children works in New York City public schools most impacted by the effects of poverty and trauma, to provide critical social and emotional supports for the hardest-to-reach youth and to systematically build schools that are safe, successful, and conducive to learning. Social Workers provide ongoing support to students, families, and the school community. Social Workers have an on-site Partnership with Children supervisor. Supervision hours count toward LCSW requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Direct practice:
    • Provide individual counseling and case management
    • Facilitate group counseling (individually or with co-facilitator)
    • Attend all school-based meetings (e.g., with administration, guidance counselor, teachers)
    • Collaborate with after-school enrichment providers
    • Collaborate with school administration and staff on the needs of students, families, and the school community
    • Integrate into and engage with school culture through the development of positive relationships with the school community
    • Conduct parent workshops and teacher staff development sessions
    • Support students and families in crisis
    • Other duties as assigned
  2. (Potential) Intern supervision:
    • Conduct weekly structured supervision of social work intern
Qualifications:
  • Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion
  • New York State LMSW from an accredited school of social work
  • At least one year’s experience in a school setting, with strong experience working with students and families preferred
  • At least two years of post-MSW experience; eligible for SIFI certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible and can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Hours:
  • Full-time, with occasional weeknight hours
  • Year-round position (summer location and duties may vary)
  • This is a school-based, in-person position
Salary and Benefits:

$62K - $65K annually, commensurate with credentials and experience. All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life insurance, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), commuter benefits, twenty-four days paid annual leave per year, plus four Summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
