Job summary

New Hanover County is seeking an experienced Social Work Supervisor to join the Adult Services division of the Social Services department. The role shares supervisory responsibility for Adult Protective Services and APS‑T social workers, guiding assessments, investigations, and ongoing case management.

The position involves supervising staff, coordinating across APS and APS‑T services, reviewing case decisions, and ensuring compliance with state and agency standards.

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited school of social work with 3 years of professional social work experience
• Or a BSW from an accredited school of social work with 4 years of professional social work experience
• Must have NC driver's license and good driving record

Responsibilities

• Supervises APS and APS-T staff, assigns and evaluates work, and conducts evaluations.
• Coordinates operations across APS and APS-T, monitors reports and program activity.
• Directs APS intake/assessment and APS-T case management activities and timelines.
• Reviews case records for completeness, timeliness, and compliance with policies.
