Job summary

Brunswick County is seeking a Social Work Supervisor III - Adult Services to lead a team of social workers serving elderly and disabled adults across a range of programs, including APS evaluations, case management, and placement services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive supervision and training experience, deep knowledge of social work principles, and the ability to coordinate with government and community resources. Availability after hours and during emergencies is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution with two years of related experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited institution with three years of related experience; or
• Master’s degree in a human services field with three years of related experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with four years of related experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree with five years of related experience; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of social workers serving elderly and disabled adults with diverse challenges and needs.
• Oversee programs including Adult Protective Services Evaluations, case management, placement services, Special Assistance In-Home Services, Adult Daycare, Adult Guardianship, and Adult Care Home Monitoring and evaluations.
• Ensure the needs of vulnerable and disabled adults are met through effective planning and coordination.
• Communicate ideas clearly, mentor staff, and carry out tasks; provide training to lower-level staff, students, or interns.
