Job summary

The American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, DC is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead strategy and content for organizational accounts with support from the Communications Associate.

You will partner with the communications team on digital storytelling, public affairs campaigns, and editorial calendars while coordinating with cross-functional teams on analytics, paid media, and platform governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related field.
• 5-7 years’ experience with social media strategy, tactics, and analytics.
• Experience managing earned and paid media campaigns.
• Familiar with social media crises and audience analysis.
• Experience with Sprout Social and Meltwater.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategy, content development and community management for organizational-level social media accounts.
• Partner with communications for digital storytelling, campaigns and editorial calendar.
• Coordinate with social media and analytics teams on issues management and performance.
• Provide strategic guidance on multimedia assets and paid media campaigns.
• Manage social media platforms, scheduling and listening tools.
