Job summary

Google LLC in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Social Media and External Communications Manager to lead hyperlocal and external social media initiatives for Google’s data-center campaigns across U.S. markets.

You will supervise an external agency and ensure messaging aligns with Google’s narratives while driving engagement. Working with Google’s Marketing and Data Center Brand teams, you will craft compelling content, manage cross-functional collaborations, and measure success with real-time KPIs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs, with a focus on social media.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted social media strategy tailored to hyperlocal audiences in U.S. markets across various social media platforms, working closely with our agency of record and Google’s community development managers (CDMs).
• Manage the external social media firm to deliver on landscape monitoring, audits, paid social campaigns, and community communications across channels.
• Review and approve copy, visual assets, and engagement strategies to ensure high quality and brand consistency.
• Ensure all social media activations rigorously align with Google’s narratives around innovation, affordability, environmental protection, and community benefits.
• Establish KPIs and sentiment metrics with the agency, using real-time data to optimize social strategies and report insights to leadership.
