Job summary

Mainland is seeking a creative, social media–savvy Social Media & Content Creator in Chicago to develop, capture, edit, and publish engaging content across platforms. You will turn ideas into compelling visual stories and support client campaigns while building brand awareness.

Collaborate with digital, content, and account teams, manage content calendars, monitor performance, and own content projects from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience creating and managing content across multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Strong photography, videography, storytelling, and short-form video editing skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, or similar content creation tools.
• Understanding of social media trends, analytics, audience engagement, and content strategy.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Portfolio demonstrating creative content, video production, and social media work required.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging, high-quality content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
• Capture and edit photography and video content for clients, campaigns, events, and social media.
• Write engaging captions and tailor messaging for different social media platforms.
• Develop and manage content calendars, ensuring consistent and timely publishing.
• Capture behind-the-scenes content, interviews, events, and other storytelling opportunities.
• Monitor content performance, analyze engagement, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Manage multiple client projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams to ensure content aligns with client expectations.
• Take ownership of content projects from initial concept through final execution.
• Continuously bring fresh ideas, creative approaches, and recommendations to improve client campaigns.
• Develop original content ideas that align with client goals, brand identity, and target audiences.
• Create content that drives engagement, increases brand awareness, and supports audience growth.
• Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms, and digital best practices.
• Collaborate with digital, content, and account teams to plan and execute creative campaigns.
