Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior SoC Hardware Engineer to lead evaluation and integration of advanced SoC solutions for automotive electronics platforms. You will partner with internal teams and silicon vendors to drive architecture decisions, bring-up from schematic design through early testing, and ensure robust ECU-level integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (related field).
  • 7+ years of hardware design and development with system-level ownership.
  • Experience with SoC subsystems, IP blocks, memory, analog, processors, interconnects and peripherals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in depth evaluations and trade off studies on SoCs to identify optimal components for automotive applications.
  • Design and manage application schematics centered around SoCs for ECU development, ensuring high performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with hardware, software, and suppliers to define design specs and align on architectural requirements.
  • Develop clear component specifications to enable timely sourcing decisions.
  • Establish and execute test plans to evaluate SoCs, including board bring-up and early validation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, semiconductor portfolios, supply chain dynamics, and roadmaps.
  • Provide technical mentorship to semiconductor engineering teams throughout the design cycle.
