Job summary

Empower Retirement is seeking an experienced Sr. Cloud Database Administrator to design, secure, and optimize the Snowflake platform in AWS. You will collaborate across Data Engineering, Analytics, DevOps and Security to deliver a scalable cloud data platform.

You will lead RBAC, security policies, performance tuning and cost optimization while advancing automation and operational excellence. Strong SQL, Python scripting and IaC skills are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience, including Snowflake environments.
• "Hands-on" Snowflake security, RBAC, masking and data sharing.
• Experience with cloud data warehousing concepts and cost optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC for Snowflake deployments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Snowflake platforms: databases, schemas, warehouses, roles and users.
• Design scalable Snowflake architectures for analytics, data engineering and AI/ML workloads.
• Implement RBAC, row-level security, masking policies, and data governance standards.
• Optimize warehouse sizing, performance, storage, and cost efficiency.
• Develop data sharing, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks and Dynamic Tables.
• Automate deployments with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Security and Governance teams.
• Mentor junior DBAs and engineers on Snowflake best practices.
