Job summary

Zelis seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead Snowflake data pipelines for Payment Operations monitoring. You will design and maintain KPI infrastructure used for executive reporting across platforms, acting as the Snowflake SME for Payment Operations.

You will guide onshore and offshore teams, ensure data quality, and document data architecture while enabling the broader operations organization to use data more independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7 years in data engineering with 3+ years in production Snowflake.
• Expert SQL proficiency, including recursive CTEs, stored procedures, performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake tables and pipelines for payment monitoring.
• Develop stored procedures, delay thresholds, and business-day timing windows.
• Maintain the main monitoring table for top-down alerting across the payment lifecycle.
• Activate monitoring scenarios in sequenced sprints based on cost, risk, revenue exposure.
• Design KPI pipelines for payment lifecycle, with joins, dimensions, and automated refreshes.
• Implement data quality controls, forward-fill logic, and schema validations.
• Lead Snowflake proficiency across teams and promote maintainable engineering practices.
• Document data architecture, schemas, data flows, and runbooks.
