The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking a Lead Snowflake Data Engineer to drive design, development, and optimization of a modern data platform. You will lead architectural decisions, improve data reliability, and enable analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Deep Snowflake expertise (architecture, security, performance tuning).
• Strong enterprise data engineering and modern data warehousing background.
• Experience with ELT/ETL design, medallion architecture, and advanced data modeling.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and optimizes Snowflake data architectures, including tables, views, materialized views, and Dynamic Tables.
• Implements and maintains Snowflake security models (RBAC, column-level, row-level security).
• Leads performance tuning using clustering strategies, warehouse sizing, and query optimization.
• Develops ELT/ETL pipelines and support medallion-layered data architecture.
• Manages schema changes, CI/CD deployments, and automation of data workflows.
• Analyzes business requirements and translates them into scalable data models and technical designs.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation, standards, and architecture artifacts.
• Oversees testing, validation, and performance assessments for platform enhancements.
• Troubleshoots production issues and ensures environment readiness for updates.
• Provides technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and project teams.
