Job summary

Advantest America Inc. in Fremont, California, is seeking a Senior SMT Process Engineer to lead surface mount technology process development and manufacturing stability initiatives.

The role requires hands-on expertise to establish world-class SMT processes, improve FPY, DPM, OEE, cycle time, and throughput, and collaborate with global teams including Taiwan assembly operations for standardization. You'll mentor junior engineers, implement Lean and Six Sigma, support new product introductions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in SMT manufacturing and process engineering.
• Demonstrated success improving yield, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own SMT manufacturing processes in Fremont and drive stability.
• Develop controls, monitor FPY, DPM, OEE, throughput.
• Lead root-cause investigations using structured methods.
• Develop and qualify new SMT processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with Taiwan ops to harmonize processes.
