Emerald Technologies in Saline, MI is seeking an SMT Operator Level III on the second shift to lead the SMT production line. You will set up, run, and program SMT equipment, and mentor junior operators.

This role emphasizes advanced troubleshooting, process optimization, preventive maintenance, and ensuring IPC-A-610 quality. Strong English reading skills and 5+ years SMT experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SMT operator experience.
• In-depth knowledge of SMT equipment, processes, and programming.
• Attention to detail for precise component placement.
• Proactive problem-solving to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Leadership and mentoring of other operators.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
• Adaptability to new technologies and products.

Responsibilities

• Master SMT line operation: setup, run, and program all SMT equipment.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for machine malfunctions and defects.
• Lead process optimization for better efficiency and yield.
• Mentor and train new operators as a subject matter expert.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration of SMT equipment.
• Ensure PCB quality meets IPC-A-610 standards.
• Manage materials, BOM-based feeding, and kitting processes.
• Document production activities and report improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering to implement improvements.
