Job summary

Phoenix Defense LLC in Ohio seeks a Subject Matter Expert to provide subsystem engineering expertise for an advanced threat modeling and simulation program. The SME advises the engineering and software teams on technical characteristics, employment, and simulated performance of aircraft subsystems, supporting integration, verification, and validation of threat models into a simulation environment.

Qualifications

• Requires MS or BS in engineering with extensive experience in the subject area.
• Security clearance: Secret required; Top Secret clearance desired.
• Prior U.S. Air Force aviation experience preferred (fighter/attack pilot, weapons officer, intelligence, or related aircrew).

Responsibilities

• Provide SME on aircraft subsystems and their simulated performance.
• Support integration and testing of updated subsystem models with engineering and software teams.
• Evaluate surrogate models for fidelity to actual subsystems and advise on suitability.
• Participate in V&V testing of threat models against real-world data and government data.
• Assist in DRB reviews by offering SME insights on subsystem deficiencies and timelines.
• Support technical reviews, sprint demonstrations, and government briefings with validated simulations.
