Job summary

Delta Solutions & Strategies seeks an SME Aerospace Engineer to support SSC Space Sensing activities at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. The role spans systems engineering, mission integration, space vehicle, payload, ground systems, test, launch, and readiness across the life cycle.

The ideal candidate is a recognized expert with DoD or national security space experience, able to influence technical direction, resolve complex problems, and brief senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Subject-matter expert in the assigned functional area with DoD or national security space experience.
• Shape technical approaches and lead complex reviews or analyses for Government stakeholders.
• Review requirements, SPs, IMPs/ISDs and other acquisition products for completeness and consistency.
• Advise senior Government leadership on high-impact technical issues and risk.
• Demonstrate strong written and briefing skills for technical audiences.
• Ability to work on-site at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, with travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject-matter authority and advise Government leadership on high-complexity issues.
• Lead the most complex reviews or analyses and shape decision products.
• Represent the functional area in senior-level technical forums and cross-organizational coordination.
• Apply systems engineering methods across lifecycle phases from concept to sustainment.
• Review technical requirements, plans, and tests for technical completeness.
• Track performance, interfaces, risks, and mission readiness; escalate as needed.
• Support spacecraft, payload, launch vehicle, ground system, and integration activities.
• Participate in design reviews, readiness reviews, and program reviews.
• Conduct trade studies and analyses to inform Government decisions.
• Develop assessments, reports, briefings, and action-item tracking for review.
