Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Smart Buildings Consultant to join our Digital Advisory Team in the United States. You will lead strategy, business case development, procurement, and delivery of digital and smart building programs for diverse clients.

You will guide initiatives from concept through handover, shaping the firm’s growing Digital Advisory practice with a focus on value, risk management, and market-informed recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• 4+ years leading or managing digital/smart building programs.
• 2+ years in smart building tech (BMS/EMS/BOS/IoT).
• Experience developing business cases, roadmaps, and implementations.
• Procurement and contract management experience.
• Strong commercial acumen aligned to business goals.
• MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency; MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, business case development, and delivery of digital/smart building programs.
• Develop use cases, technology roadmaps, and investment cases.
• Manage procurement, market assessments, tenders, and contracts.
• Review proposals and architectures (BMS/EMS/BOS/IoT).
• Establish governance, budgets, risks, and program dependencies.
• Advise senior stakeholders with clear business recommendations.
• Mentor team members and contribute to practice growth.
• Support business development and go-to-market offerings.
