Job summary

University Health's Center for Sleep Health in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a Master Scorer (Daytime Technologist) to lead expert scoring of overnight sleep studies and related procedures. This full-time, on-site role requires strong leadership, precise scoring, and a commitment to patient care.

You will mentor sleep technologists, ensure accuracy against ISR gold standards, and drive continuous quality improvements across the lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience scoring complex sleep laboratory studies.
• Experience with sleep data collection, CPAP titration, sleep study scoring, and sleep stage recognition.
• Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential and/or Registered Respiratory Therapist–Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) credential required and maintained as a condition of continued employment.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification maintained as a condition of continued employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including basic troubleshooting of equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert scoring of overnight polysomnographic studies, MSLT, MWT, and other advanced sleep studies.
• Review and finalize technologists’ preliminary scoring before forwarding studies to physicians for final interpretation.
• Maintain monthly scoring accuracy of at least 80% compared to ISR gold standard.
• Oversee the quality of sleep testing by monitoring study quality and collaborating on QA data worksheets.
• Mentor and coach sleep technologists; support staffing and scheduling.
• Assist in developing departmental policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Lead educational initiatives including monthly Inter-Scorer Reliability testing.
