Job summary

University Health in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking an experienced sleep professional to join the Center for Sleep Health as a Master Scorer. You will perform expert scoring of overnight polysomnographic studies and advanced sleep procedures while mentoring the sleep laboratory team.

You will review preliminary scoring, ensure accuracy, lead quality improvement efforts, and help develop training programs for technologists.

Qualifications

  • Two+ years of experience scoring complex sleep studies.
  • RPSGT or RRT-SDS credential required and maintained.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform expert scoring of overnight polysomnographic studies and advanced sleep tests.
  • Score approximately one fully scored sleep study with a completed report every two hours during scoring shifts.
  • Review and finalize technologists' preliminary scoring for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain monthly scoring accuracy of at least 80% against ISR gold standard.
  • Oversee sleep testing quality and QA data worksheets in line with AASM parameters.
  • Mentor and coach sleep technologists; adjust schedules to support operations across the center.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Assist in educational needs, orientation and continuing education for technologists.
  • Support laboratory operations through inventory management and equipment checks.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of sleep equipment and computer systems.
  • Conduct infection control inspections, safety rounds, and documentation of issues.
  • Maintain records of equipment issues and repairs.
  • Champion quality improvements and patient safety and deliver patient-centered care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families and staff.
