Job summary

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Medical Science Liaison/Senior MSL to advance the sleep franchise. This field-based role covers the Great Lakes Region (IL, IN, MI, WI) and requires residency within the geography.

You will communicate Axsome science, support the national medical affairs plan, and assist with other pipeline programs as needed. The position emphasizes building relationships with HCPs, delivering scientifically balanced information, and contributing to trials and team growth.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, DO, APNP or PhD) required.
• Previous MSL experience preferred.
• Preference for neurology, neuroscience, and/or sleep experience.
• Candidate must reside within the geographic area.
• Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop relationships with healthcare professionals to raise Axsome’s mission in sleep disorders.
• Develop deep knowledge of neuropsychiatry and approved pipeline medications.
• Provide fair and balanced scientific information to HCPs and internal teams.
• Deliver formal presentations to HCPs and external stakeholders when requested.
• Lead scientific discovery and communicate insights from peer-to-peer discussions.
• Analyze territory needs to achieve clinical and business objectives.
• Collaborate with internal partners to advance objectives and maintain expertise in sleep/neuroscience.
• Maintain knowledge of market issues and product knowledge in key therapeutic areas.
• Contribute to growth of the National Sleep Field Medical Team and document field activities.
• Support company-sponsored trials and assist with investigator-initiated proposals as needed.
