Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Environmental Planner/Siting Specialist to join our Earth & Environment Team in Virginia, with sites in Richmond, Arlington, Virginia Beach, or Herndon. Lead the siting of energy projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage with clients and agencies to deliver high-quality reports and permitting documents.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in environmental planning or siting
• BS in Environmental Science or Geology
• Familiarity with routing/siting studies and reports
• Knowledge of PJM, MISO or regional transmission boards
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to manage project teams and coordinate with clients
• Willingness to travel for site visits and public meetings
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in teams

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and execute siting and routing studies for energy projects
• Gather background data, prepare maps, document findings for clients and agencies
• Participate in public meetings and windshield surveys
• Liaise with governmental agencies, clients and team members
• Support siting reports and state filing documentation
