Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Environmental Planner/Senior Siting Specialist to join our Earth & Environment Team in Ohio. You will plan, execute, and lead siting studies for energy projects across transmission, substation, and renewables, collaborating with clients and agencies.

This role requires 5+ years of experience, a BS in Environmental Science or Geology, strong writing skills, and the ability to manage teams and travel for site visits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in environmental planning or siting.
• BS in Environmental Science or Geology.
• Ability to lead routing/siting studies and prepare reports.
• Familiarity with PJM, MISO or regional transmission processes.
• Excellent technical writing and clear communication.
• Ability to manage project teams and interact with clients.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and lead siting and routing studies for energy projects (transmission, substation, renewables) in Ohio and nearby states.
• Gather background data, prepare maps, participate in meetings, and document findings for reports.
• Liaise with governmental agencies, clients, and team members.
• Support siting reports and explain the siting process and rationale.
• Provide guidance on state filing requirements and contribute to public utility applications.
