As our portfolio of complex site development projects continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Site Work Estimator to join our growing team in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Position Summary

The Senior Site Work Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating process for site development, earthwork, utility, and related construction projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of site construction means and methods, subcontractor procurement, quantity takeoffs, and bid strategy.

This role is focused on site work and site development construction and is not a heavy civil estimating position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience pricing commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, healthcare, and mixed-use development projects involving earthwork, utilities, paving, and site improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of complete and competitive site work estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
• Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for:
• Site clearing and grubbing
• Earthwork and grading
• Excavation and backfill
• Underground utility systems
• Drainage infrastructure
• Water and sewer installations
• Retaining walls
• Asphalt paving
• Landscaping and site amenities
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop project-specific scopes of work and bid packages.
• Analyze project risks, constructability challenges, and logistical considerations.
• Prepare budgets, value engineering options, and cost analyses.
• Participate in project handoff meetings with operations teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Assist business development efforts by identifying and pursuing bidding opportunities.
• Mentor junior estimating staff and support departmental best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of estimating experience in site development, site work, earthwork, utility construction, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of commercial site construction methods and sequencing.
• Ability to independently evaluate and price complex site packages.
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff platforms.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Grading
• Storm drainage systems
• Sewer and water utilities
• Asphalt paving
• Erosion and sediment control
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits and pre-bid meetings throughout New England.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Experience estimating projects ranging from $500,000 to $25+ million.
• Knowledge of local municipal, state, and private-sector site development projects.
• Experience working with AGTEK, HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, Earthwork Pro, or similar estimating software.
