Job description

Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. Design and develop architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Facilitate service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on shared full stack ownership of services and technology areas.
2. Understand the configuration, dependencies, and behavior of production services.
3. Design and deliver mission-critical stacks focusing on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
4. Own end-to-end performance and operability.
5. Partner with development teams to improve service architecture.
6. Articulate technical characteristics and guide enhancements to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
7. Understand and communicate service attributes such as scale, capacity, security, and performance.
8. Demonstrate understanding of automation and orchestration principles.
9. Act as escalation point for complex issues not covered by SOPs.
10. Utilize knowledge of service topology for troubleshooting and mitigation.
11. Explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.
12. Maintain professional curiosity and a desire to develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
