Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer for the Starlink program in Palo Alto to own and optimize the reliability of our large-scale satellite internet platform.

You will tackle challenging problems, own critical systems, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available services. Required background includes 5+ years in software development with site reliability or 7+ years in related roles, Linux, and proficiency with Kubernetes/Istio, streaming data tools, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; 5 years of software development experience or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Strong experience in site reliability or DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade distributed systems to be sharded and geo-redundant across data centers.
• Advance deployment, monitoring, and alerting for multi-region environments.
• Manage petabyte-scale bare metal compute clusters.
• Collaborate with engineers to create operable, scalable products.
• Engage across the full software lifecycle from design to operations and refinement.
• Focus on performance bottlenecks and improvement techniques.
