Job summary

Apple Services Engineering is seeking a seasoned engineer to own the full service lifecycle from inception through deployment and operations. You will work with cross-functional teams to design scalable, reliable services used by billions of devices.

Key responsibilities include maintaining health metrics across latency and availability, driving automation, and leading incident responses. A strong background in distributed systems and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical projects and providing engineering leadership.
• Strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or shell scripting).
• Experience with observability tooling, SLOs/SLIs, and capacity planning at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proven track record of driving automation to reduce operational toil in high-traffic production environments.

Responsibilities

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
