Description

Born in Yosemite, forged in Quantico and built for adventure. 5.11 is a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, rooted in performance, durability, and versatility. Since 1979, we’ve created gear and apparel for people who live life without limits, delivering gear and apparel that empower them to push boundaries every day.

The Senior Site Merchandiser plays a key role in driving the commercial performance of assigned categories and customer journeys across the 5.11 digital storefront. This role translates business priorities, product performance, inventory position, and customer behavior into onsite merchandising strategies that improve product discoverability, conversion, average order value, and revenue.

You’ll lead merchandising and optimization across navigation, search, product listing pages, product detail pages, collections, recommendations, launches, and campaigns. Combining strong product storytelling with a data-driven approach, you’ll continuously evaluate performance and identify opportunities to improve how customers discover and shop 5.11 products online.

What You'll Do:

Category & Commercial Ownership

  • Own the merchandising strategy and weekly trading plan for assigned categories, product stories, and customer journeys.
  • Analyze sales, conversion, inventory, product views, add-to-cart, sell-through, and customer behavior to identify opportunities and take action.
  • Develop product prioritization strategies across newness, best sellers, inventory depth, promotional products, slow-moving inventory, and strategic launches.
  • Identify cross-sell, product attachment, and basket-building opportunities to increase average order value and customer relevance.
  • Continuously evaluate category and product performance and adjust merchandising strategies based on results.
  • Lead product placement, sorting, collections, category pages, landing pages, onsite search merchandising, recommendations, and promotional merchandising.
  • Optimize navigation, filters, product listing pages (PLPs), and product detail page (PDP) pathways to improve product discovery and reduce customer friction.
  • Define merchandising requirements for product attributes and taxonomy to support effective search, filtering, and category experiences.
  • Develop compelling onsite product stories that balance customer needs, commercial opportunities, and brand and campaign strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve how customers discover, evaluate, and shop products across the site.

Launches, Promotions & Testing

  • Develop merchandising strategies for product launches and promotions, including product placement, hierarchy, storytelling, and post-launch optimization.
  • Partner with Ecommerce Operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure merchandising strategies are accurately executed across the site.
  • Review and validate the customer experience across launches, promotions, and key commercial moments.
  • Develop and execute merchandising tests across sorting, navigation, messaging, recommendations, landing experiences, and product presentation.
  • Analyze testing and performance results and translate findings into clear learnings and future merchandising actions.

Performance & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead merchandising performance recaps and communicate insights, opportunities, and recommended actions to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with Product, Inventory Management, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, and Digital Product to align inventory, launches, content, and the overall digital customer experience.
  • Use customer and business insights to influence merchandising priorities and support broader ecommerce strategies.
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Site Merchandisers, sharing best practices and helping maintain consistent merchandising standards across the site.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, digital merchandising, or a related digital retail role.
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics, financial metrics, and site KPIs to make merchandising decisions and drive measurable business results.
  • Strong experience with category merchandising, onsite search, navigation, sorting, PLP/PDP optimization, product recommendations, and digital product storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce customer journeys and how merchandising decisions influence discoverability, conversion, and average order value.
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento) or a similar ecommerce platform preferred.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as GA4, Adobe Analytics, or Power BI preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate data and customer behavior into clear merchandising actions and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple launches, campaigns, categories, and business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
