Job Summary
Uni-Systems Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on oversight of multi-site shop and field operations involving the fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
This role directs project execution, resource allocation, scheduling, site administration, and quality assurance across job sites and shop operations. The Senior Site Manager works closely with Uni-Systems Engineering employees, temporary workers, subcontractors, general contractors, unions, vendors, corporate leadership, and other project stakeholders to complete projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead shop and multi-site field operations involving the fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
- Plan and manage staffing, resources, schedules, budgets, and project milestones to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise, motivate, coach, and mentor employees, temporary workers, contracted laborers, subcontractors, and field or warehouse crews.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, local unions, vendors, customers, and corporate leadership.
- Set up and manage shop, warehouse, and field offices, including weekly work schedules and day-to-day site operations.
- Oversee fabrication and assembly processes, workmanship, quality assurance, and compliance with drawings, specifications, instructions, and other technical documentation.
- Manage job site deliveries, material receiving, inventory, storage, packaging, and shipment of parts, tools, equipment, and components between company locations, vendors, subcontractors, and job sites.
- Oversee job site administration, including time sheets, daily reports, material receiving reports, electronic project documentation, and safety records.
- Communicate project status, field conditions, schedules, materials, and cost-related matters to project stakeholders and corporate offices.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce compliance with project-specific and OSHA safety requirements, including conducting or assisting with regular safety meetings.
- Attend project, superintendent, assembly, and coordination meetings and represent Uni-Systems Engineering’s interests with customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on technical support and perform skilled labor tasks as needed to help complete project work.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, performance, installation and assembly processes, maintenance practices, and cost control.
- Travel to job sites and work away from the home base for extended periods as needed, with travel requirements of up to 90%.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of ten years of field construction experience, including significant experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and direct others, with proven skills in managing people and complex projects.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage management, employees, vendors, and customers.
- Working knowledge of software applications used for design, modeling, project scheduling, budgeting, and enterprise resource planning, including Excel, eDrawings, and ERP systems.
- Results-oriented, with a proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills applied to complex projects and business challenges.
- Demonstrates initiative, accuracy, and professionalism in producing quality work.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to job sites, including extended assignments away from the home base, up to 90% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience directing multi-site operations on large-scale, complex projects such as stadiums, entertainment venues, or other specialized structures.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Certified Rigger, Forklift Safety Training, NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training, and/or First Aid Training.
- Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives and process/quality management programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
