Purpose

The Senior Site Contract Manager in Purchasing & Supplier Management is responsible for ensuring the timely and appropriate execution of Clinical Study Agreements, Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements, Master Clinical Study Agreements, Investigator Initiated Study Agreements, Facility Use Agreements, and other site-related agreements, along with associated budgets and service provider agreements linked to CSAs. This role involves collaboration with R&D business teams/functional areas including Clinical Development Operations, Finance, Office of Ethics & Compliance, Legal, and external parties. The manager drafts, negotiates, and executes agreements, ensuring final contracts are delivered on time, within Fair Market Value, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards. The SSCM acts as a US contract management expert, mentoring colleagues, driving excellence, and representing the group on process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the timely preparation and execution of CSAs, CDAs, budgets, and vendor agreements. Serve as the point person for assigned regions for legal, finance, and CDO interactions.
2. Negotiate CSAs, CDAs, site agreements, and budgets with investigators, using templates and guidance, liaising with legal for approval of changes.
3. Contribute to updates of legal and budget playbooks and templates.
4. Maintain tracking and documentation of CSAs, CDAs, and related site information per company requirements.
5. Manage priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders, escalating issues as needed to avoid project delays.
6. Lead process improvement initiatives within the US Contract Management function, promoting continuous improvement and excellence.
7. Demonstrate high competency in contract management, negotiation, and business standards.
8. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, managing workload distribution.
9. Partner with Country Operations Managers to ensure effective contract management and issue resolution.

This is a Remote US-based role

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in healthcare, business, legal, or scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of clinical research and/or contract/budget experience, with knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards.
• Proven negotiation, interpersonal, and business skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication skills in English and local languages, with conflict resolution abilities.
• Proactive team player capable of maintaining high performance amidst change.
• Experience in line or matrix management is advantageous.
• Financial, budget, and cost management skills are desirable.
