Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer to lead civil and utility infrastructure projects for diverse clients.

You will design, manage, and deliver site development and energy infrastructure initiatives from concept through construction, coordinating with municipalities, regulators, and utility providers. The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in site civil engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Licensed PE with at least 10 years of relevant experience in site civil engineering.
• Experience with site development and/or utility infrastructure projects, including exposure to renewable energy (wind, solar) or transmission projects preferred.
• Familiarity with permitting processes for both traditional development and energy/utility projects.
• Proven project and/or task management experience.
• Strong knowledge of site civil engineering principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• General Contractor License a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Coordinate with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers for permitting and compliance.
• Perform site evaluations, due diligence, and feasibility assessments for land development and energy infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, drainage reports, and permit submittals.
• Develop grading, drainage, and utility layouts for large developments.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for site and utility development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Deliver designs that meet safety and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate with surveyors, environmental scientists, structural and electrical engineers.
