Job summary

Applied Materials in Gloucester, MA seeks a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies. You will collect data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues while measuring film properties and generating technical documentation.

You will collaborate with vendors and customers to implement new technologies and support R&D projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Materials Science or related field.
• Demonstrated interest in ion beam interactions with materials and defects.
• Experience operating advanced metrology instrumentation (SIMS, Mass Spec, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Characterize dopant profiles to demonstrate implant performance and diffusion depths.
• Prioritize SIMS lab activities to meet internal and external requirements.
• Develop SOPs for tool operation, qualification, and performance tracking.
• Drive SIMS characterization techniques for emerging device architectures.
• Build SPC and tool-health monitoring and lead continuous-improvement projects.
• Provide consultation and training to internal and external customers; deliver technical presentations.
