Job summary

The University of Kansas Wingspan: Center for Learning and Writing Support is hiring a Senior SI Leader to support the Supplemental Instruction program. You will lead weekly SI sessions, mentor peer SI Leaders, and collaborate with faculty and the SI Manager to ensure effective study sessions and student engagement.

Responsibilities include attending lectures, preparing materials, and promoting SI sessions, with a focus on developing leadership within the SI team for the Spring 2027 semester.

Qualifications

• Must be an SI Leader for at least 1 semester in Wingspan.
• Minimum of a B letter grade in the selected class.
• Ability to work 12–15 hours per week, including afternoon and evening availability.
• Enrollment in no fewer than 6 credit hours during the semester.
• Student hourly position; remote work not eligible unless approved by unit leadership and HR.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured study sessions for the designated course.
• Develop practice problems, discussion questions, study guides, and other materials for SI sessions.
• Attend all class lectures for the designated course weekly.
• Mentor new and current SI Leaders; share facilitation techniques and guidance.
• Collaborate with faculty and the SI Manager; attend trainings and meetings to build leadership and facilitation skills.
• Promote SI sessions to students via announcements, emails, or other tools.
