Job summary

NDC, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Operations Manager in Tennessee to lead daily outbound activities, oversee a team of ~15, and ensure accurate shipments for ~75,000 pallets annually and $275M in sales.

The role requires strong LEAN and 5S experience, plus leadership of cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include carrier negotiations, reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations to optimize the customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in distribution/transport/logistics; MBA desired.
• HAZMAT training or certification desired.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in distribution/transportation, management or related field.
• Strong PC literacy and proficiency with distribution software (WMS/TMS/ERP) and data tools.
• LEAN processing/5S experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily outbound activities across all DCs, supervising two leads and ~14 staff.
• Monitor shipping transactions; set up rules in TMS and WMS to optimize flow.
• Handle payroll reconciliation, hiring and other personnel decisions.
• Create reports from TMS, WMS, ERP and data tools to monitor inventory and capacity.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, IT and Customer Service to resolve inventory variances.
• Proactively manage employee relations; conduct meetings and safety training.
• Assist VP of Operations with carrier selection and contract negotiations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
