DigiKey Electronics is hiring for a Senior Shipping Associate - Exceptions. This essential onsite position processes global customer orders, resolves order exceptions, and ensures shipments go out for same-day delivery.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, AR, and PDC to meet customer requirements.
• Manually enter dimensions/weights for non-conveyable or palletized items.
• Re-palletize, wrap, and band products when needed.
• Ensure truck logs are complete and shipping documents uploaded.

Product Distribution Roles:

• Full-Time Day Shift - $21.00 starting rate ($20.00 base pay and $1.00 allowance)

• Full-Time Evening/Overnight Shift - $24.00 starting rate ($20.00 base pay, $1.00 allowance, and $3.00 shift differential)

• Full-Time 3-12 Shift – $ 23.34 starting rate ($20.00 base pay, $1.00 allowance, and $2.34 allowance for the 36 for 40 schedule)

• Part-Time - $20.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay and $1.00 allowance)

• Seasonal Day Shift - $20.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay and $1.00 allowance)

• Seasonal Evening Shift - $23.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay, $1.00 allowance, and $3.00 shift differential)

Position Overview:

The Senior Shipping Associate - Exceptions is responsible for processing global customer orders, ensuring final steps for accurate delivery is complete and all orders are provided to the carriers for same day shipping. This role specializes in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving order exceptions and system errors.

This is an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and handle errors on all orders that do not auto post or that need invoices or additional steps to be completed

• Well-versed in carrier specific software programs such as: Fed Ex Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, DHL EasyShip, and show a demonstrated ability to process orders correctly

• Read order notes and make the best determination of the next step in processing the order

• Serve as a courteous and effective liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Accounts Receivable, and PDC in meeting customer requirements

• Manually enter dimensions, weights, and posting of orders that do not fit on the belt system (large and oversized/non-conveyable products) or items that ship out palletized.

• Complete re-palletization, wrapping, and/or banding of product when necessary

• Ensure truck logs are completed, upload necessary shipping documents, and collaborate with other departments for possible corrections

• Perform carrier support by keeping the shipping cages clear including remove boxes to place on pallets and emptying the shipping cages to avoid belt congestion; move cages to applicable carrier

• Operate pallet jacks, pallet jack scale, PIV/forklift, stand on pallet jack, part mover, and pallet wrapping machine

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Highschool diploma or GED required

• 1-2 years of warehouse experience

• Read, write, and communicate in English

• Basic computer navigation and typing skills

• Ability to actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task as well as the ability to change focus quickly based on requests by employees/management

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motion

• Capable of spending 8-10 hours walking/standing on concrete

• Regularly lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance

• Ability to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs

• Ability to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level

Pallet Shipping

• Use of pallet jack up to 60 lbs. with heavier packages requiring team lift

• Use of PIV equipment ( Cushman cart, Electric Pallet jack, Stand on Pallet jack and Fort lift)

Compensation:

The starting base pay rate for this position is:

$20.00

This position may also be eligible for shift, skill, and/or team lead pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
