Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience required in shipyards.
• 3 years SHIP FITTER experience/shipyard REQUIRED.
• Must pass HFT & BGC

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated components prior to welding.
• Perform fitting and machining: straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream, countersink to close tolerances.
• Refer to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to be welded.
• May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances after welding.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
