Job summary

RPG is seeking a dedicated Shipfitter in Goose Creek, SC, to join a team focused on the assembly and maintenance of ship structures. The role emphasizes precision, safety, and hands-on fabrication on challenging projects.

Candidates must have OSHA-based confined space training, respirator qualification, PFAS competency, and PPE familiarity to operate in a high‑safety environment at Newport News premises or off‑site locations.

Qualifications

• Confined space trained as per OSHA standards 29 CFR 1915 Subpart B.
• Respirator training and qualification per 29 CFR 1910.134.
• Fall protection training and use of lifelines and beam clamps per OSHA regs.
• PPE training covering eye, head, foot, hearing protection and PFAS.
• Hearing protection, ANSI Z87 glasses, and flame‑resistant coveralls required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fabricate, and maintain ship structures.
• Ensure components are joined accurately and efficiently on complex projects.
