Job summary

Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) seeks a Sr. Shelter Operations Manager to oversee operations, staff supervision, and compliance across multiple Enhanced Shelter locations in the Greater Seattle Area.

The role includes on-site presence, client safety, and coordinating with the LIHI management team. The position emphasizes policy enforcement, accurate reporting, and on-call emergency coverage, with a focus on serving unhoused and low-income populations.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working or volunteering with homeless or low-income populations.
• Two years supervisor experience leading a program or project with staff and volunteers.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, independent environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficient in record keeping and report preparation; able to follow-up and meet deadlines.
• Must pass background checks, driving record check, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site presence, monitor shelter operations and safety.
• Supervise staff at multiple shelters and coordinate with partners.
• Ensure program compliance, proper intake, and incident reporting.
• Respond to emergencies on-site and be on-call as needed.
• Foster a clean, respectful, and safe environment for clients.
