Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Sheet Metal Shop Technician on 2nd shift to support precision fabrication of aerospace flight hardware. You will set up, operate, and maintain laser cutters, brakes, rollers and related forming tools to meet tight tolerances.

You will read drawings, perform precise inspections, and collaborate with engineers to improve fabrication methods while mentoring junior operators in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience operating and maintaining machinery in a precision manufacturing or aerospace fabrication environment.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM) and follow detailed technical processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain sheet metal fabrication equipment (laser cutters, press brakes, rollers, English wheels, shrinker-stretchers).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure components meet dimensions and quality requirements.
• Perform precision measurement and inspection using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other gauges.
