Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Sheet Metal Estimator in the construction industry.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as QuickPen.
• Extensive experience in preconstruction estimating for sheet metal projects.
• Familiarity with bid documents, RFIs, RFQs, and related project documentation.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documents to create comprehensive cost estimates for sheet metal projects.
• Utilize QuickPen and other estimating software to accurately estimate labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Prepare and submit competitive project bid proposals, ensuring all aspects are accounted for and the bid is submitted on time.
• Develop and process RFIs and RFQs, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and vendors as necessary.
• Conduct preconstruction take-offs and create detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand and manage client expectations, ensuring estimates meet needs and budget constraints.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure accurate estimates.
• Participate in bid negotiations, providing detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates when required.
