Job summary

BBVA in New York seeks a senior sales trader to cover North American institutional clients in SFT across repos, TRS and securities lending. You will manage client relationships, coordinate with trading desks, and lead onboarding with legal teams.

The role requires 10+ years in fixed income SFT, SIE/7/63 licenses, and fluency in English; Spanish a plus. Base salary ranges from $275,000 to $325,000 with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and preferably Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a sales or sales trader in SFT’s fixed income collateral (Repos, Reverse Repos, Securities lending, TRS) are required.
• SIE, 7, and 63 licenses are required.
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive coverage to North American institutional clients, primarily in the U.S. and Canada, across Fixed Income Securities Financing Transactions (SFT), including Repos, TRS, and Securities Lending.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with US/Canada institutional clients (hedge funds, money market funds, conduits, agent lenders, custodians, asset managers, insurers).
• Coordinate pricing and execution with trading desks; support client onboarding with Legal on GMRA, GMSLA, ISDA.
• Collaborate with Back Office, Middle Office, Legal and Risk to ensure compliance and drive growth.
